🎯 What It Is
City Wallet is a mobile-first web app that delivers hyper-local, context-aware deals from neighborhood merchants. Instead of generic coupons, it surfaces the right offer at the right moment — based on the weather, time of day, and your neighborhood — without ever tracking your exact location.
Think: it's raining at lunchtime → the café 80m away pings you with 15% off a hot coffee. That's the magic.
🧭 My Role
A Hack-Nation hackathon project built by a team of two. I owned the product and UI side: deciding feature by feature what the app had to offer consumers and merchants, and how it should look and feel.
🌍 The Vision
Big delivery platforms and chain loyalty apps have hollowed out local high streets. City Wallet flips that: it gives independent merchants the same AI-powered, real-time marketing tools that giants like Uber Eats or Starbucks use — but in a privacy-first, community-friendly package.
Two sides, one ecosystem:
Consumers discover spontaneous, relevant deals near them.
Merchants automatically fill empty seats, move surplus stock, and react to weather/competition without lifting a finger.
📱 What We Built — Consumer Side
Contextual offer feed (/) — cards tinted by category, with live countdown bars (green → amber → red as they expire), weather/time context, and a one-tap "Get Now" CTA.
Filter pills — All, Coffee ☕, Lunch 🥗, Bakery 🥐, Distance 📍.
Pull-to-refresh with a spinning loader, just like a native app.
Offer detail & redemption flow (/offer, /redeem) — accept an offer, walk to the shop, redeem with a code.
Favorites (/favorites) — save merchants and get notified when they post new deals.
Profile, Account, Settings, Privacy — a complete account shell.
In-app push notification mockups — simulating real-time offer alerts.
Savings tracker — "You saved €12.40 and supported 3 local shops this month! 🌱"
🏪 What We Built — Merchant Panel (/merchant)
A serious B2B command center disguised as a friendly dashboard:
Store & Rules tab
AI Auto-Pilot ✨ — one toggle and the AI runs your promotions, capped by a weekly loss-prevention budget.
Conditional Weather Triggers ⛅ — a Zapier-style IF/THEN builder: "IF Rain THEN apply 25% discount on All Hot Drinks."
Performance tab
Live Local Demand radar — animated pulsing heatmap showing where foot traffic is concentrating around your shop right now.
Competitor alerts — "3 nearby cafes are offering 20% off — boost your offer? 🚀" with one-click action.
Bar charts + recent activity table — classic analytics, polished.
🔒 Privacy & Security
No exact GPS tracking — only neighborhood-level, weather, and time signals.
Lovable Cloud backend with Row-Level Security on all data.
Cleaned up an unused push_subscriptions table before publishing to GitHub to eliminate any RLS gap.
.env ships only publishable keys — safe to commit.
